Up, Up, and Away

Since Paul and I had already gone on a hot air balloon ride with my family, we decided to opt out and take the babysitting duty this time. The rest of the Akin's woke up bright and early around 4:30am to enjoy a chilly, but beautiful morning high above the Masai Mara. They had an incredible view of the migration from the balloon.

Paul and I woke up around 6:30 am and had an interesting time getting two little ones ready at once. It was a new challenge for us, especially since our tent was freezing cold. After we conquered that task, we headed to our safari vehicle to meet up with the rest of the crew for breakfast once they landed.

Here are some pictures of our morning...

Granddaddy, Lottie, Anna, and Tim ready to go on their morning ride.

We ended up finding their balloon and getting to chase them for awhile. They are the four hanging out of the left side of the balloon in this picture.

They eventually spotted us too :)

Here are some amazing pictures of the migration that they took from above.

Watching them land. They had a much smoother landing than we did...no termite mounds were involved!

Baby duty with precious Levi-I loved every minute! He is so laid back and is such a sweetie.

Setting up breakfast for the hot air balloon group.

A proud Granddaddy :)
