After all the wedding festivities in KY were over, the kids and I hopped on a plane (actually two) headed to North Carolina. Since Paul was still in Turkey, we had the privilege of spending time with the other set of grandparents for the week. Unfortunately, the cold weather from KY followed us to NC. However, we still managed to have a great week with the Granddaddy, Lottie, and Uncle Nate. The Wake Forest area is extra special to me because it's where we lived as newlyweds and there are just some really great memories from our 2 years there.
Visiting Granddaddy's office.
Although this looks like a sweet kiss, don't let the picture deceive you. Granddaddy was TOTALLY bribing sweet Jordan with a jolly rancher...some things never change :)
Notice the little man at my side who snuck in the picture at the last minute.
Micah attempting to read (well, at least saying every letter) a special bench in honor of Paul's grandparents.

Playing in the library...
Visiting with family...
Paul's Aunt, Uncle and cousin's came in from Virginia to spend a few days with us. We hadn't seen them in over 2 years, so it was so good to catch up. There is NEVER a dull moment with them around :)
Visiting with friends...
I managed to see a few of my friends who live in the area, but unfortunately forgot to take pics with some of them. Lottie and Granddaddy were so sweet to watch the kids while I went off and visited for a little while.

Rebecca...our sweet teammate from Kenya
Thanks Granddaddy and Lottie for a wonderful week. We miss you already!

Looks like lots of fun in NC with the Akin clan. Andrew needs to meet Danny and Charlotte so he understands things like the jolly-rancher incident :)
